Three defence witnesses ordered to be in Court on July 4
Colombo High Court Judge Ms Deepali Wijesundera on Thursday (23) directed defence witnesses, UNP Deputy Leader Karu Jayasuriya, MP, Prof. Ashley Halpe and The Sunday Leader journalist Raisa Wickremetunga to appear in Court on July 4.
The directive was given when the White Flag case was called on Thursday. Former Army Chief Gen. Sarath Fonseka is indicted in the High Court of Colombo for alleging that Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa ordered the army to execute surrendering LTTE cadres in the final phase of the Vanni offensive.
The case was put off for July 4 as Justice W. M. T. P. B. Warawewa was indisposed.
