Soldier on security duty at Nayaru Bunker mysteriously killed
A soldier who was on security duty at Nayaru Army Bunker , Mulaitivu had been shot and killed ; and his body was found yesterday morning by the Army.
This soldier had taken up security duty 19th night at the Bunker situated in a village called Nayaru in Manalar district , Mulaitivu. He had been on duty alone. His body had been found this morning from the
Bunker. Investigations reveal that this soldier had died of gunshot injuries . His weapon however had been found close by intact. The gunshot has not been due to his gun , it is learnt. The weapon in his possession had not been used.
The soldier is a resident of Nochchiyagama , Anuradhapura . It is only two weeks since he married , and his relatives are harboring suspicions of foul play. The body is now at the Vavuniya Govt. Hospital. The Army and the police are conducting independent investigations.
