SF allowed to withdraw appeal
Gen. Sarath Fonseka yesterday sought the permission of the Supreme Court to withdraw the special leave to appeal application he had filed in the Supreme Court, against an order of the Court of Appeal, which refused him interim relief, to get the proceedings of the Court Martial II suspended.
Shibly Aziz PC, who appeared for Fonseka, told the Supreme Court that the Special leave to appeal application should be withdrawn since similar matters were still being challenged in the Court of Appeal by way of Writs.
The withdrawal was allowed by the Supreme Court.
