President warns Galle Tarzan, but in vain
President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday warned controversial Galle District UPFAParliamentarian Nishantha Mutuhettigama against what the government sources described as Tarzan type antics after the latter had an iron railing at the newly built Galle bus terminal cut off on Thursday.
On Wednesday Hikkaduwa bus operators launched a strike claiming that some iron bars were obstructing passengers. Subsequently, all bus operators using the Galle Central Bus Terminal joined the strike.
Mutuhettigama told The Island that the President had warned him against ‘Tarzan style operations’.
He said he had acted in the interest of the public and he would continue to be on the side of the people in the future as well.
